ROTARY CLUB OF MUMBAI LAKERS ANNUAL T-10 CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Season 2 of the RCML T-10 Cricket Tournament is here. RCML, a 2 year old club has in its primary years taken up a number of social causes in and around Mumbai and Thane Districts. This involves a lot of dedication, time and MONEY.
Season 1 of the T-10 cricket, held at HFS grounds in the month of Feb-March 2010, was a major cog in the wheel of the RCML wagons road to successfully helping the not so fortunate strata of our society.
Season 1 was a huge hit with the Corporate Houses. 18 teams representing their companies slugged it out against each other, in a bid to show their might on the cricket field. The success of Season 1 ensured that THE RCML T-10 CRICKET TOURNAMENT was here to stay and was going to be an ANNUAL fixture. As the old Hindi adage goes, “EK TEER SE DO SHIKAAR”, the corporates have a two fold advantage :
· Employee Engagement (HR activity)
· Fulfillment of CORPORATE SOCIAL REPONSIBILITY (CSR)
Highlights of T-10 2010 were :
· 17 Top Corporate Houses participated in the tournament
· Various NGOs were involved – a huge feel good factor for the kids they brought
· A match was held between the CEO’s of the companies and a group of Special Children
· RK (the famous NEO Sports commentator) did the running commentary
· Celebs like Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sanjay Manjarekar and Vinod Kambli graced the games
· Bajaj Allianz was the principal sponsor last year and the supporting sponsors were UCO Bank, Aramex, HIRCO and UFO Moviez.
· The participating teams were : Gioseppo, Aramex, Hiranandani Constructions, Hirco, UPS, BG India, Colgate, Crisil, JLT, Capita, Rossari, Bajaj Allianz, Credit Suisse, HCC, IRB, Vashi Electricals, Bayer India (2 Teams).
Season 2 of the tournament promises to be BIGGER and BETTER. Being held from 16th April thru 1st May 2011 on weekends only, at the HFS ground, the tournament is hoping to showcase the Tendulkars and Sehwags of a lot more corporate houses than last year.
The fun and excitement will be spread on and off the field with events planned for it to be an entertaining fundraiser for participants and audiences alike.
